"Throughout history, beer has always been a popular beverage. It’s even believed that in medieval Europe more people consumed beer because the brewing process made it safer than water. However, it’s not until recently that beer has been matched with food.

Traditionally, foodies have matched dishes with wine. But that’s all about to change. A new era is emerging, in which people are discovering that beer can be a wonderful accompaniment to food, and that there are lots of different brews to suit all palates. 

In the Just Add Beer cookery book, Sharp’s have collected an array of recipes from prominent chefs working with the wonderful produce we have in Cornwall. Embracing the idea of food being paired with beers, these chefs have been experimenting in their kitchens to create these recipes, using beer, for you to try.
