APOLLO 50

20TH JULY 2019

Apollo 50 is an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing at the iconic Goonhilly satellite communications site based on Cornwall’s Lizard peninsula. The one-off special event will celebrate this monumental anniversary of history with an educational and entertaining day of music, science, art, and culture.

This is where in 1969 “Arthur”, Once the largest satellite dish in the world, built for the Telstar launches that signalled the dawning of the space age and named after King Arthur beamed images of the 1969 moon landing to millions of homes.

The site was even mentioned in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy when its dishes failed to detect the Vogon invasion that ultimately led to the end of the world. Once the largest satellite earth station in the world, its visitor centre attracted around 80,000 visitors a year.

We'll be there with our awesome beers, including our new limited edition space inspired brew, One Giant Leap. We teamed up with the guys a Goonhilly to create this so we really hope you enjoy it!
