Before joining Sharp’s as our Head Brewer, Andrew Madden spent 6 years in Auckland where he discovered a great love of New Zealand hops and some inspirational brewers. One of these brewers, Keith Galbraith, opened his eponymous brewery in 1995 with the heart-felt desire to reintroduce real ale to New Zealand. Keith is now a renowned cask ale brewer and recently picked up two gold awards and a trophy at the International Brewing Awards 2017.
Style: Pale Ale
Taste Note: Named after arguably the best surfing break in New Zealand, and Keith’s local surf break when he was growing up, Manu Bay is a golden pale ale with a clean malt flavour and a moderate bitterness from the New Zealand hops. These sought-after hops impart crushed citrus flavours and aromas of lime, orange zest and marmalade.
