Seasonal Beers

The Sharp’s Seasonals range is inspired by the brewery’s quest for sustainability, local sourcing and quality ingredients in everything it produces and each beer is lovingly created to utilise the best of nature’s bounty from each season.

Sharp’s is also lucky to have the very best help in choosing which of the seasons’ ingredients to use. The ‘Green Team’ from Cornwall’s Eden Project has helped source some very special ingredients to go into the brews.

Autumn Red Ale, 4.1% ABV
Available from 1st September

Bridging the gap between light summer beers and full winter beers, Red Ale is perfect for autumn. A delicious, fruity bittersweet beer, Red Ale is matured over Cornish oak which gives the beer a wonderfully rounded, earthy flavour.

Abbey Christmas, 4.6% ABV
Available from 15th November

Sharp’s new Christmas beer for 2010 is our interpretation of what medieval monks in Cornwall brewed to celebrate the festive season. Abbey Christmas is a lovely dark reddish brown colour and is full and bittersweet with a tart and hoppy finish.

Winter Ruby Ale, 4.4% ABV
Available from 2nd January

Brewed using slow roasted locally sourced chestnuts, Winter Ruby Ale (4.4% ABV) combines satisfaction and refreshment to make the perfect winter drink. Winter Ruby Ale is ruby red in colour with a dense creamy head and showcases sweet and nutty roasted flavours from the chestnuts.

Spring Atlantic IPA, 4.2% ABV
Available from 1st March

For Sharp’s spring beer we have modernised the traditional IPA style to create a crisp, fruity beer with a superb dry finish. Pale straw in colour, Atlantic IPA is brewed with a blend of four hops (one variety grown at the Eden Project) which gives a complex and refreshing flavour for spring.

Summer Honey Gold, 4.2% ABV
Available from 1st June

Honey Gold is a delicious golden beer brewed with five varieties of hops, honey and subtle spices (including ginger grown at Eden Project). This combination gives our summer beer a delicately spicy, citrus bittersweet flavour designed to quench the thirst during the warm summer months.
