With the exhaustion of tin mining, Cornwall's fishing fleet helps maintain traditional industry in modern Cornwall. The Coaster, a type of fishing vessel, was used extensively by Cornish fishermen in the last century. Cornish Coaster pays tribute to all those down the centuries who have bravely plied their trade around Cornwall's rugged coastline.
At 3.6% abv and with a generous measure of refreshing flavour and light golden hue, Cornish Coaster is the perfect drink to quench the thirst on a hot summer day.
Head Brewer, Stuart Howe, says “Ask any brewer and they will tell you that it is very easy to brew big bold strong beers with attention-grabbing attributes but to make a lower strength beer with true character and depth of flavour poses a much greater challenge. I like to think Coaster does this as well as any session beer I know”.
An all malt grist, loads of beautiful English hops and a classic open fermentation give Coaster the ability to impress the unaccustomed and to delight the regular drinker every time. Coaster is wonderfully flavoursome and highly popular with our customers.
Taste Notes from Head Brewer Stuart Howe
"The fresh aroma of hops blends seamlessly with light fruity-sweet notes. In the mouth the beer feels succulent and despite its lower gravity delivers a good measure of hoppy bitterness. This is complemented by a light, almost honeyed malty sweetness. The finish is dry and hoppy with a light moreish bitterness."
